Portrait Speed Dating
Hosted by Viv Hendry
1 Event. 2-3-hours
Sunday 18th October, 7.30 pm
Elgin

Step inside the warm, ambient glow of the Drouthy Cobbler in Elgin on the 18th of October at 7:30 PM, where traditional speed dating gets a delightfully eccentric, artistic twist. Forget awkward small talk about weather and jobs; at this two-hour event, participants can communicate through the tip of a pen and the stroke of a charcoal pencil. As the timer ticks down, each pair will get time to sketch one another. The results can be wonderfully unpredictable, breaking the ice with instant laughter and removing the usual pressure of romantic expectation.
More than just a fun night out, this creative mixer is designed to spark genuine friendships and lay the groundwork for a larger community celebration. Every hastily drawn portrait becomes a keepsake and a conversation starter, meant to be handed over at the end of the chat as a memento of the encounter. These connections won't just end when the final bell rings; the friendships forged over tilted sketchpads and spilt drinks are intended to be brought together again at the upcoming Arts and Wellbeing Reflections festival. It is a brilliant evening of art, connection, and local community spirit that proves the best way to see someone is through the lens of pure creativity. Tickets are just £5pp. All materials provided.
